46 Songs to Start Your Day Off Right | Music Monday Playlist

songs-to-get-your-day-started

We think it’s probably a universal problem: you have a great weekend and then Monday rolls around. Getting out of bed seems to take a little bit longer than usual, and you find yourself thinking, “Man, I wish I had an extra day!” or “How did that go so fast?”

And sometimes on those days (and let’s be honest, this problem might happen every day, no matter what part of the week it is), you need a little something “extra” to help get you going. So we took it upon ourselves here at the Nostalgia Diaries to put together a Music Monday playlist that might just help with those slow-moving mornings when getting out from under those covers seems just a little too hard.

You’ll probably find that this playlist is quite eclectic, but that’s for good reason: we reached out to a bunch of our friends — both real and virtual — and asked them to let us know what ONE song they would wake up to every day if they could. The answers ran the gamut from upbeat and happy to soft and mellow. As to be expected with music, everyone has their own tastes, which makes this playlist diverse, fun, and sure to keep you on your toes — and keep them tapping, too! Happy listening! We hope these songs help your day (and week) start off on a high note!

Talk to Us: If you had to pick one song to start your day with every morning, what would it be?

Below you’ll find our YouTube Playlist, and right below that, the list of all of the songs that are included in it. (Click on the three lines in the upper left-hand corner of the YouTube link to individually play any of the songs on our playlist.)

  8. This is the best list. I’ve been sitting here with my kids going over these song. You should see their faces. They argued with me over Madonna and laughed at Rocky Mountain High and danced at Baby got Back…..I am defiantly holding on to this list.

  10. Such an upbeat playlist full of classics from all eras! I’ve found that I need to ease my way into the day, so I have a playlist of gently invigorating songs that I rely on every single morning. It was genuinely important for my mood when I was working in a job that was beating me down. Crazy how important music is to our happiness!
